I know, self-centered of me. :)

It sounds like it's already complete chaos, and I'm thrilled there's so much support for the writers. I hope that causes it to end soon!Natalie J. Alot of the shows had prepared and had written more scripts but now the showrunners who tend to be writers/producers/directors of their shows are refusing to cross pickets. like alot of the the writers for Lost and other shows are also producers/directors. They technically had to report for work to produce/direct but as of today about 75 or 99% of them are out in front of the studios picketing.

This is affecting alot of people that work on shows right now. I know an actress who works on Brothers&Sisters(her name is Emily Rose)she has a recurring role on the show and as of tomorrow she will be unemployed. They have a couple of completed scripts but with no writers to re-write scenes and no producers/directors they are going to shut down tomorrow.

My friend Amanda(who worked on Alias) now works for Lifetime and she is extremely busy looking for scripts from Canadian Guild writers. She says that its a madhouse in all the major studios in town. All shows should run of of new episodes by mid december. I know that NBC is going to pull back episodes of Friday Night Lights so they can have some air in December. Lost only finished 8 episodes of the new season and according to Carlton and Damon episode 8 ends in a cliffhanger and he does not think that people will want to wait until January 2009 to find out what happened. alot of shows re-wrote episodes to have their last episode airing(maybe episode 11)as a season finale.

I really hope they settle this strike soon. Alot of people that I know that don't work for the studios but depend on the entertainment business for their job. the craft services, the people that work in production, casting and so many others. plus I really don't want to watch mindless reality shows on every channel for the next six months.

RoseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
