New Toy

About 10 or 11 years ago, my wonderful husband bought me an all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier for my birthday.

I think I managed to scan one picture before the scanner function stopped working. I was never able to get the scanner to communicate with the computer--all three of the ones I've had since getting the printer.

A couple of years ago, it stopped communicating as a printer, too. That was really annoying, because I could no longer print color documents for promotional purposes or copy photos and stuff. But I still had the laser printer, and I could use the all-in-one for faxing and copying.

Then a few months ago I started getting a message about the scanner being on the blink and to turn the machine off and on. I'd do that once, and it would work fine, still scanning the original to fax or copy.

Last week, turning it off and on stopped working. So I couldn't copy the insurance card I needed to copy. Worse, it meant no more faxing, either. Which meant not faxing our order to Neato Burrito.

Well, that was just not acceptable. So I bought a new printer, another all-in-one that's much smaller and sleeker. And guess what? All the features work! So now I can subject you to stuff like this:

Cutie You!!

And really, no inanimate object shall mess with the Neato Burrito order. It definitely had a death wish. It deserved whatever it got.

Thanks! I have to dig some out that actually show my face.

I know, right? Total death wish, and's been here long enough to know better.

This sounds pretty much identical to my printer experience. Now I just cry over the $500 I wasted on that old printer that I thought would make my life so much better but only brought me frustration.

I love my new, sleek printer. It actually works!

Neato Burrito?? I'm in love! Where is this wonderful place?

Congrats on your sleek new printer, Ally! :)

They have a jalapeno-feta salsa that is to DIE for. I ate there every Tuesday for like 6 years, because it was a block from work. Man, I want some now...

LOL, both my kids have all-in-ones, but I won't touch them myself. I like a separate scanner from my printer. I use the printer about 200% as much as I use the scanner, so this way the scanner lasts longer. Although, my old scanner, which was working fine in every way, was not compatible with Windows 7, so I had to give it my dh and get a new one.

The scanner is actually the thing I need the least! LOL I have a laser printer for most printing needs, though the color printer is necessary for promo stuff. The fax and copier get used the most, though.

I'm sorry you had to give away your scanner. :(
