Things I'm Behind On

1. Client Work
I have a very laid-back, understanding, no-rush client who fell by the wayside for deadline work. I'm struggling to get caught up—he should be rewarded for his patience!

2. Blogging
I don't know if this counts as "behind," since it's clear I haven't followed any regular schedule here lately. Blogging other places takes away some potential topics.

3. Reading Blogs
Authors, friends, industry-related, they've all gone neglected, as have the 3 or 4 entertainment and sports blogs I read. It will take me hours to catch up! :(

4. Reading, Period
I'm never not reading a book, and I always have a TBR pile (I get hives when it gets too small), so this probably doesn't count.

5. Buying Books
I have 19 samples on my Kindle, all books I want to buy. I have 2-3 pages of Wish List for either print books or ones that aren't out yet and don't have Kindle pages. I'm trying to do more e-books, but I keep getting these B&N coupons... :) This isn't something I ever catch up on, so I don't know if it counts, either.

6. Podcasts
I listen to ESPN Football Today and the Patriots Radio Network podcasts. I'm always a little behind on those during the season, but I catch up on the weekend. The Pause.com and Pottercast languish, however. Luckily, those two have been very inactive lately. I'll put RWA conference workshop recordings on this list, too.

7. Netflix
I've had Love and Basketball since July 22. Nuff said.

8. TV
I've managed to watch some. (Like The Event, so tired of all the family clichés on No Ordinary Family, the characters on both will bring me back.) But Hawaii 5-0 and Nikita are waiting impatiently, and most of my shows have at least one episode waiting.

9. The Info List
Because I only work part time, I handle all the household management. "Info List for J" has been on my master to-do list for way too long. It's the list of all the things he'll need to know if I die.

10. My Website
I have a list of updates—links for Afterlife, contest placement announcements, prep for Fight or Flight and Soul of the Dragon—that are undone. The whole site needs an update, really.

11. Social Networking
Facebook and Twitter are sadly neglected! I have no idea what's going on out there, nor am I promoting my interesting (HA!) self very well.

12. Soul of the Dragon
Not ready for publication. :(

13. Agent Search
I have an agent reading Full Fusion, my YA manuscript, but in the event she passes, my backup plan is not ready to put into motion. I did just place 2nd in a contest and had that manuscript requested, but I don't know by which of the three final judges.

14. Housework
Not cleaning; thanks to the NFL Sunday Ticket, that gets taken care of before the in-law invasion each week. But my closet is in desperate need of a clean-out. The valances for the living room have gone unhung for so long, the haphazard pile on the corner of the sofa looks right, rather than an uncomfortable reminder. And under the bathroom sink? Blues Clues bath bubbles, from when 15-year-old Number One was about 4. I still haven't finished cleaning out/feng shuiing my office, either. :(

15. Clothes Shopping
Just to round it off, I'll add this. Number Two grew a few inches this summer. Suddenly, it got cold, and she told me she only has, like, two pairs of jeans that fit. I've been trying to take her shopping, but soccer and homework keep interfering. It's not something I can do without her, you know?

So. Am I alone? Are you all caught up, or can you join me in the Chronically Behind Club?

YAY on second place! I'm behind-er than usual. But July 22 on Netflix? Nope. That would make me nervous.

We're behind on TV since we were catching up on Fringe and Vampire Diaries.

I'm behind on grading. I decided not to grade Monday, then Tuesday we had a meeting and Wednesday I was working on lesson plans but people kept interrupting, and today we have another meeting and I'm taking off tomorrow because the dh is on vacation...I think I'll be bringing home work.

I only have 2 submissions currently out, and I have 1 set of edits I'm working on, requested revisions, and then revisions I'm doing on my own.

The house, I've been managing, but like you, I need to go deeper.

And the next two weeks will be worse!

RE: Netflix--my kids have been using their queues pretty well, and the hub uses the streaming via Wii, so it's not totally dormant. :)

Eek on the grading!

Good luck with the revisions/submissions!

I'm behind on some of the same things as you and a few different ones. Hopefully I'll catch up on two of them this weekend but you never know.
You have got to watch 5-O

Good luck! :)

5-0 is good, huh? Or are you just referring to the buffness? LOL

I'm always chronically behind, just depends what I'm behind IN. I finished revisions on my cindypk ST two weeks ago and have been doing website updates to two sites to force myself to stay away from the manuscript. One site is updated, except of course I found a new review right after I finished the updates and I learned Google Analytics needs to be installed on every page, not just the home page. So I have more work to do there. The second site (Cindy's site), I'm FINALLY updating my photos page and putting up a few pics from the 2008 conference! I have an editor interview lined up and want to make some changes to my blog. But I also want to read that full this week and begin my agent search. So the rest of the site updates will have to wait for weekends.

Cindy, you're exhausting me! LOL And making me feel guilty for all the web things I haven't done.

Good luck!
