Entangled Under the Mistletoe Blog Hop

Don’t forget to check out what the other authors participating in the hop are giving away!

I'm so excited to have my first holiday story coming out this week. If You Believe in Me is an Entangled Flirt, the first short story I've had released in a couple of years.

This is also the first story I've done in a very long time that's a straight contemporary romance. Usually, I have some kind of adventure or suspense plot, heroes and heroines chasing bad guys, the risk of death.

Well, okay, this one doesn't escape that completely. Kale Riker is deep in black ops, struggling to get through one final mission in time to get home for Christmas. The guns and heat and sand and bad guys aren't typical Christmas scenery.

But back home, we've got a small-town heroine immersing herself in the spirit of Christmas, helping run the Breakfast with Santa for underprivileged kids and taking elderly friends for last-minute shopping, not to mention cooking, donating, and preparing every minute of the day. Not that it's helping keep her mind off Kale, the love of her life, who's been missing for six months and whose parents have given up on ever seeing him again...

(Don't worry. What would a reunion romance be without the happy ending? Especially at Christmas!)

Check back here for more information! In the meantime, you can enter my giveaway for a free copy of the story! And don't forget to click the link above to see the other posts and giveaways! Have fun!

Honestly, I like gift cards. I like to be able to choose things I want. I don't think it's a cop out as much as just trying to please the person.

I love gift cards, because I love to receive them. Depending on the person, I enjoy giving them.

I love them if they are for ebooks or music -- it's so hard to pick something like that out for someone so a gift card rocks!!

Well said, all three of you! Thanks for coming by and commenting. :)

Sorry about the messed up link at the top of the post. Blogger screwed it up and I didn't think to check it before I went to work this morning. It's working now, to go back to Entangled's main post with the list of participants.

Happy Holidays!

Best gifts ever! Also better on the giver. I like to buy them for neices and nephews who are hard to please.

I think gift cards are great for everyone. It's better than spending money on something someone will never use or re-gift.

Happy holidays and thanks for the giveaway!

I have mixed feelings about gift cards. I like getting something personal and meaningful for people, but if I just can't think of anything or if they're known for being hard to please, I like the option gift cards. At least I know it's something they can use.

Gift cards are nice. I thinks it's a great gift because the receiver has the option to buy what he wants.

Thanks for the giveaway! I think I'd choose B&N for a gift card, just because.

I try to buy personal items for people. But I love getting gift cards for books. Every year I tell my husband to get me an Amazon gift card for Christmas..

Thanks for all the comments! I'm relieved that the consensus is that gift cards are at least ok, or even great. :)

Definitely, I agree that they're best for books and music. You never know what the recipient already has or would like, most of the time.

Personally I think gift cards are the best gift ever...lol.

I truly believe that it depends on the person. If it is someone that either you don't know well, or that just absolutely loves gift cards, then that is the best solution. However, if the person is a close friend/relative, you should put forth some effort and find a personal gift.

Merry Christmas and thanks for the blog stop.

It depends on the person. For someone who really likes shopping, this gift is both the item and the experience. Someone else might not enjoy it as much.

I love getting gift cards! Gift cards just make the holidays last longer and you can pick out something that you really like. I think a gift card is completely okay if you don't know something that the person will really like or you know they would like a gift card.

All good points!

I especially agree about making the holidays last longer. :) My birthday is 12/23, so I usually get some gift cards then, and some at Christmas, and shopping is exciting, and then getting packages or downloads is like extra presents. :)

Gift cards are always awesome! I do like picking out gifts for people, BOTOH - if you're like me and go through a lot of books really quickly, often times.. gift cards are the best way to go.

I think giftcards allow the person to get something they really would enjoy, although I have a hard time giving JUST a GC. I like to add them to my kids stocking tho, so they can buy from the sales.

Merry Christmas !

I love giftcards, but I do also think it can be a bad gift if you got a giftcard to a shop you never visit.
Giftcards are not really a easy way of buying gifts - its still a personel thing, but you give your receiver the choice to buy their favorite parfumebrand you didn´t know about, or a giftcard so your receiver can go to the theater (something they maybe never do) but still be able to choose what show they want to see :)

I think it depends on the situation. I will give gift cards if I think the person could use the money more than the gift. I will also give gift cards to someone I don't particularly like or care about. Someone I'm invested in though, will get a personalized gift card, if that's what they want. I have given gift cards for people to do certain things or even cards with family pics on them.

I have mixed feelings about gift cards. On one hand I think they make sense. On the other, my husband says way to put a lot of thought into a gift. I'd give a gift card but I'd also have another gift as well. I personally like gift cards, I can get what I'd like and not worry about returning something that doesn't fit or that I don't like.

I don't think gift cards are a cop out - I would rather do an actual gift but if I can't find something right for the person, I resort to those :)

More awesome comments, and I agree with all of you! :) Thanks again for joining in the blog hop, and good luck with all the prizes! :)

I love giftcards because it shows me that the person knew their taste might not work when picking a gift for me. It shows that the person is willing to admit how much they were willing to spend on you too. lol A well-thought gift is great but sometimes a giftcard is even better.
